Our dear friend and colleague Chris Korpi passed away suddenly two years ago on November 8 at the age of 53.
Assistant Vice President of Tribal Relations and Business Development for VizExplorer since 2013, Chris dedicated his life to being an advocate for and champion of the First Nations People. His commitment to educating the public on the plight of Native communities, dedication to fostering positive Tribal relations, and personal devotion to ensuring Tribal sovereignty and economic independence through gaming will forever be missed.
In remembrance, the VizExplorer team would like to celebrate his life and honor his contribution to our company and to the Indian Gaming industry at large. The work we do every day to support and drive the success of our tribal customers' gaming operations is how we continue to honor his legacy, and we hope you'll join us by learning about his organization that continues to serve Native American communities.
Along with his many friends in the industry, VizExplorer helped to launch the Chris Korpi Tribal Development Fund (CKTDF), which seeks to provide technology, assistance with basic technology skills and educational resources to underserved tribes.This year, CKTDF is focused on providing connected devices (computers, tablets, etc.) with built-in indigenous language keyboards to a California tribe. With this project, it aims to promote significant, long-term change in the lives of tribal members through preservation of its Native language. Please join VizExplorer in supporting Chris' legacy. Going forward, VizExplorer will donate a portion of each tribal sale to support the great work of the CKTDF.
