So, How is that Machine Hold Treating You?

So, How is that Machine Hold Treating You?

For years, the expected hold % on a game has been defined as a measure of performance. As Slot Operators, we compare the Theo Hold to Actual, investigate variances, and pride ourselves on how closely we monitor our floors.

But what impact does that have on your customers? How often do you discuss the game hold with them? If I would formulate a guess…I would say approximately never.

In reality, customers have no visibility to the hold of the game. What they do have, however, is a very clear knowledge of how much they have spent in any given period. How often have you heard a customer describe to you how much they have lost in the past 10 minutes? Or the past hour? Or perhaps they have told you how long their $100 lasted throughout the evening?

One thing is clear, customers are interested in two metrics – time on device and cost of the game…not hold.

So, shouldn’t we be interested in the same thing? Wouldn’t it make sense to you to determine the cost of an hour of play across your entire floor? Wouldn’t it help you to be able to place similarly priced games in the same area?

Then talk to us about heat-mapping your floor based on Theo Win per Hour. Schedule a demo and let us show you some innovative new insights into your slot floor performance and how to best accommodate your guests.
